Hello Dick,
Thanks for your point.  The FCC has taken a company to task for selling
modified ham equipment on E Bay. (not using) Check

The radio must bear a FCC Certification label for FRS/GMRS.
I agree not a good idea.  This radio may come back "to bite" you!
