Just a thought:
Good advice on trying the old "work the connector" trick.
If the encoder for the sub VFO is the same, you could also try switching the
cable to THAT one to verify it is an encoder problem.
I have done that on TEN TECS where the rit encoder was the same unit.
At least then you will be sure it is the encoder.
(Plus, you can operate in the meantime on the other encoder if it is the
same)
