BINGO!!!

Thanks to everyone for the help.  Indeed, big ugly jumper that the book 
doesn't say anything about.  I thought in the back of my head I had to tell 
the radio the filter was there somehow.

Ghost images appear to be gone and it sounds like what a 400hz CW filter 
should be doing.  I'm a happy camper now!
