[Yaesu] FT209 RH RESET help

Hi All

I have (2) Ft-209 RH HT's  both were working fine until last week. One
appeared to have lost its memory capability.
When I turn it on it came up all of the LCD features illuminated.

I tried hitting the RESET button and powering up , this solved the display
illumination issue but it comes on with all zeros. and when you program a
channel it gives an ERR msg when you press the D key. If you program a freq
and press PTT it gives an ERR msg and goes back to the 0000 display. Also
beeps ERR upon power up....

pressing the "d" key a few times moves the memory  channel indication from 0
to mem 4 with each press then goes to ERR if pressed a 5th time...

Is there a code you need to program in after you power up with the reset
button depressed ??

Is this puppy DOA and its time for a new HT... or can it be saved???
