I don't doubt it.  There are probably many that haven't failed.  A
premature failure rate in the area of 20 from all accounts is totally
unacceptable, though.  Among hams I know it's over 50% that have had to
send their FT-100s and FT-100Ds back.  In one case, with the rig out of
warranty, the repair cost was half again a new radio.  Is that
acceptable on a two year old FT-100?
