wow,
i have had an ft100 since they first came out and have had zero problems..the 
mods to make it "right" are easy and available. i've not had to do 
them......and mine is mounted in my van, a harsh environment.  i did replace 
the top cover and put in the new ft100d speaker, makes all the difference in 
the world...

go figure...
