[Yaesu] 2 meter problem, yaesu, and mods

Called up Yaesu today about the problem my FT100D was
having on 2 meters. Figured out beforehand that it
was oscillating, probably somewhere other than just 2
meters. The service tech told me to first try and
tighten all circuit boards, since sometimes they will
become a little loose, and that hurts the grounding.
he also said that based on my serial number-I had to
guessimate since I was at work, that I was right
around the time they started the new and improved mod.

Well, when I got home I opened up the radio and
tightened all of the circuit boards. A few screws
were kind of loose (both in the radio and in me by
this time). In terms of the grounding mod, here is
what I found. It had a couple of copper metal strips
which were soldered to the center rib of the chassis.
Is this a good enough mod? It didn't look like the
conductive tape, it looked like actual metal, and it
was soldered. if the oscillation continues I may have
to send it back to Yaesu, I am keeping my fingers
crossed.

So, what about the mods. Is the copper strips and
soldering good enough? or what else should I do?
