Copper strap and soldering should do a good job where
it is used. You may have to add additional grounding
if the oscillations do not stop.
I recommend tightening all of the screws in any radio
that hold things in place. This is the source of
probably over 90 percent of the problems in "boat
anchor" equipment and cause even more problems in
solid-state equipment. Most of the grounds in a radio
are made through these screws and if they become loose
the grounds become very "iffy".

The service tech told me to first try and tighten all
circuit boards, since sometimes they will become a
little loose, and that hurts the grounding.
It had a couple of copper metal strips which were
soldered to the center rib of the chassis. So, what
about the mods. Is the copper strips and soldering
good enough? or what else should I do?
