[Yaesu] Service Assistance

Being the originator of this thread, I must add the following, at the same
time I sent out the original question on this reflector I also sent an email
to the email site listed on the web page. Within 10 minutes I received a
response to my question regarding how to return my radio for a warranty
issue. I was impressed with even getting an email response let alone being
immediately. Hopefully the rest of the trip will be as prompt as the email
response.

Hi All,

I'm glad someone else registered this complaint besides me. ( I didn't want
to be the "original whiner".) I've never had an unanswered call, but my
dealings with their customer service have been bad enough to make me
consider never owning anything by Yaesu again, and you all know that must be
pretty BAD. I needed a component last November, the website gave me the
wrong number, the parts person shipped me another number still (also wrong),
and two months after I returned it (at my expense), they hadn't yet credited
my Visa card. Each time I called to straighten this out, I was put on hold
for twenty minutes or so, and this is no toll-free number! Fortunately
Yaesu's products don't need much product support, but God help you if they
do! This is how a company loses customers.
