[Yaesu] Yaesu FT990 and packet

When selecting Packet via the buttons on the front of the FT990, it
operates in LSB.  Does snyone know if there is a modification to the
FT990 to allow you to operate in USB when using the packet postion, or to
allow you to choose either LSB or USB when using packet?
