Thomas KN4LF Says:
  I hold no ill will towards MFJ and have no ulterior motives, but as a =
consumer I have the right to disclose experiences with any vendor I do =
business with. Everything I've ever purchased from them has had =
manufacturing flaws/defects and/or broke soon after purchase and it's =
allot of stuff I've purchased. Tuners, power supplies, headphones, dummy =
loads, clocks, speakers, keyers. Just my personal experience over a 15 =
year period. Yes it took that long to admit to myself that they indeed =
do make Mighty Fine Junk. To say that they have a QC problem is an =
understatement, plus the electrical components they use are of poor =
quality.=20
  Recently I bought an Ameritron ARB-704 relay buffer to go between my =
FT-840 and LA-1000A and it arrived with a poor paint job and a metal =
enclosure that did not come together properly. It works fine so far but =
I did have to repaint the metal enclosure.

I agree with Tom's suggestion, though - it is worth a look but don't =
expect
to find a mess inside except very rarely - guess every company has an
occasional "Monday morning" quality problem!  <:}

Thomas KN4LF Said:
If you buy any MFJ antenna tuner be prepared to pop the cover and =
inspect
the inside. Loose
nuts and bolts, no solder joints and cold solder joints are the norm.
