[Yaesu] FT1000D ROM Questions

The latest ROM version is 6.0 AFAIK.  So I don't think you are too far
behind.

I had mine upgraded, by sending it to Yaesu.  Being that you're down in Kiwi
land I don't know how easy that would be to do.  As for the interface, I use
Writelog also.  I have the baud rate set to auto and polling turned on.

Now one thing I have had trouble with is that I have a pair of RS-232 cards
in my machine so I have a total of 5 serial ports (actually 7 by the time
you include com2 and the modem).  I have had difficulty using the higher
serial ports with a lot of programs including Writelog.  I think that is a
limitation and quirky problem with Windows and not the rig interface.  So be
sure to initially try your rig out on Com1.
