As a QRP'er, you should look at the Elecraft HF transceiver kits.  They are
"top-drawer" for QRP'ers, they will keep you away from the "big three", and
I understand their tech support is excellent.

Too bad that we don't have a rating service for repair shops-from what I
have heard about Kenwood, Icom and Yaesu repairs, an independent repair shop
should do quite well.  I don't see many advertised, though.
