Hi,

They are definitely not for me. I have neither the skills nor the time
to build a complex kit. It's too big and doesn't fit in the console of
my car. It doesn't do 6M, 2M, and 70cm. I'm looking for one small do
everything rig. Also, the emphasis is on CW, and I don't do a whole lot
of CW and none from the car. As an SSB rig I've heard from a number of
owners that it's just decent, not great. Oh, and there is no FM
capability either. Less capability, higher price, bigger size. Gee...
that sounds like a loser to me.
For me, hands down, the FT-817 is a much better choice.

It wouldn't help for warranty work, which must be factory authorized or
at the factory.
