Frank,
the mod for the FT530 has been around as long as the radio has been
out...it was cut the infamous yellow or green wire on the main PC
board...then reset the radio....I think it became a little different
in later versions...but mine was the easy one :)
Works from below 420 to 470 with little problem.....nice to check on
my links in the 420 band while monitoring local PD channels in the
460 band and my company rptrs in the 450 band at the time...
Mine also can pick up the 800MHz band thanks to the extra wide band
mixer the later models are missing....due to a software and hardware
change..
