Hmm, I think you have it a little backwards. The original mod was a
glob of solder between two pads on the PCB. Later models used the
'snip the green wire' kind of mod. Even later models had the RF ckt'ry
mod'ed to make them deaf at 800.
Is there really anything so exciting to hear up there? What's wrong
with just picking up an old Motorola Flip phone, grounding the rightmost
battery tab, and using the service/test mode? I still think I can type
the commands in from memory.
