Like Wayne, I would also like to comment on the unfortunate pending demise of the WSWSS.
Until four years ago, I had been an avid HF DX'er. In 2002 I was bitten by the VHFUHF/UW bug and haven't had a QSO below 50 MHz since. The reason I mention this is that I was fortunate to run into, get to know and learn from many WSWSS members who shared their collective experiences with me thus making it much easier and more enjoyable making the transition from HF to the world above 50 MHz.
As Wayne states, I don't know the reason why WSWSS has been struggling although I can make an educated guess when I look at my own case. Despite the benefits I gained from the associations I formed with WSWSS members I never joined nor volunteered to help due to the daily demands of running a business and making a living. I think the Left Coast is often a more intense working environment than what you see elsewhere in the country. I think our culture is also a bit different - how many of us really know our neighbors? Over the last few years I never even joined the club despite all the great people I met and help I got from all of you - shame on me.
It maybe too late to change the situation, I hope not. Paul, please add my name to the apparently short list of people who are willing to help (as well as officially join). Let me know what I can do if anything.
Best regards to all and 73's
