Good morning to all,

I will be on 1296.1 (hopefully with the usual large contingent of Nor. Cal. stations at 0930 local this morning. Northern stations on the first 30 second sequence.

Saturday's conditions were spotty with lot's of QSB. Ralph K6TSK DM03 and Jim AF6O DM14 were both solid copies despite the relatively poor conditions. I am hoping that some of the guys running lower power decide to give the north south path a try. It may take some patience (and perhaps spring time improved conditions) but a lot of fun to try! If Len WA6KLK is on frequency (CM89) I will standbye (or move to .110) for those of you who want to give Len's longer path a try.

One other point of note unrelated to 23cm, 50 MHz was open yesterday afternoon and early evening. First sign of the fun to come was my working KD5PBR EM04 at 2330 hrs. First non local 6M signal I have heard in a few months. Within a few minutes the band opened into DL98, DL89 and further south into Mexico. Rafa XE2OR as well as 6H1AY, 6H1AQ and XE1MEX made numerous QSO's into W6 land. Sadly for me, the opening moved south of me fairly quickly leaving me listening on the sidelines.

Best to all,

Chuck NA6XX CM97bf
