I'm a latecomer to the late WSWSS, and a mere dabbler in VHF-UHF.

Without question organizations take lots of time and effort to keep  
going.  But... there's no reason it can't continue virtually
in the form of this reflector group and on-the-air nets and  
individual user skeds.

Take a look at the HFPack Yahoo groups, for example.  There are no  
dues, no club officers.  There are members who act as the yahoo group  
moderators for main board and the spin-off groups-- which have  
multiplied to include special interests within the portable HF  
operating menu of
favorite modes: APRS, ALE, etc.

One group HFNow is dedicated to on-air skeds, mini-expeditions and  
people just saying, "hey, I'll be on...listen for me!"

Just keep the information and insights flowing via this email group,  
and get on the air!
