Hello,
My 2 meter beacon in DM12 (N6XQ) has been off the air for about a
year. The exciter broke and I have not found a replacement. I did have
some complaints that it was too strong in the local area. The 222, 432, and
1296 beacons here are on the air.
I hear the N6NB beacon Q5 all the time with a loop rx antenna, so ERP is
not a problem in this direction. High altitude beacons seem to propagate
very well. If there is a primary power source limitation, my preference
would be to reduce the power and have it transmit continuously. I am
impatient in waiting for beacons to transmit.
By the way, I was hearing KH6HME/B on 2 and 222 yesterday
afternoon. Please post your reception reports for the Hawaiian beacons at
KH6FOO's page
