Hi Harv,
Thanks fir the reply and the links. i give them i good look see.
yes im looking into useing Linux right now im on the "family" pc so Ham 
stuff is limited on it. next week Im going to meet up with a friend of mine 
him and his wife got new lap tops to they were going to give my the two PC 
towers they have, plus i have a eacj PC tower hear I just need a video card 
for it. I will use these PC just for Ham radio and running my home statoin. 
at least that the plan. i was thing maybe trying to find one them 
"notebooks" for fielding logging as well. i dont know if you can get on line 
with them. but it would been writing it all. yep in try for the QSO party 
are ready check i not ding anything that week end. so all i need to go is my 
app. me and Ed talked about maybe going it as a team. right now im playing 
with APRS and a couple pocket things. im on 2 meter alot as those are the 
only rig i own rig now. I will test for my genral on Sun and pick up a 70cm 
right then i can be on 2 bands. also trying to learn CW and looking at rock 
mite kits have allot on fun even researching what i need to do what i want. 
I think i have ui view 32 set up right i can see other statoin and receive 
massage i just have not tryed send on yet.
