[W8MWA] ARES, where are you?

Hi, Bill:

Those are good questions and you bring up some interesting points. ARES on
a national scale is entering a new phase. Much has been released from the
ARRL on this in recent months and more is forthcoming. In Monongalia
County, we have a newly-appointed EC, Jim Seckel, KC8YUI. Jim is a member
in good standing of the MWA and regularly attends meetings. I'm sure he
would welcome the additional participation of the experienced ARES member
you describe.

I suggest you have him contact Jim for more information. Also, anyone else
interested in being an active member of the ARES team should get in touch
with Jim or at least come to the January meeting. ARES is one of the
topics on our agenda. I, for one, welcome Jim in this leadership position
and look forward to the coming year.

I hope that covers your question and provides some information to others.

Best regards,
Cory Sickles, WA3UVV
