Hi John,
A friend of mine sent me this new repeater going on the air soon. I ran a test with the site and could hear and talk to it from Donation Road with 15 watts. I'm not familiar with D-Star digital yet. I'm sure there are local hams who know D-Star.

Mike,
Our D-STAR machine is almost on the air from Atlantic, PA (http://www.atlantictower.us/) (Latitude: 41-30-23.0 N and Longitude: 080-18-34.0 W). Its call is K3AWS (Atlantic Wireless Society http://www.k3aws.org) and is on 147.150/.750 MHz (the first Mercer County ARC frequency). Initially it will xmit barefoot with 25 watts.
I called you today to setup a sked to try an analog simplex contact between you and me using the repeater site antenna (1420 AMSL + 293 AGL = 1713) before the machine gets connected. Some simplex frequency like 146.580. The new 2 meter antenna barely shows in the picture on the left end of the top platform. It's fed with new 7'8" heliax. I've been kerchunking around the region with 50W from my IC-2820H.
BCNU,
Joe
