Dear W2CRA members:
Things are, slowly coming together for
Field Day...
Tom, NU2W is assembling our supplies
for feeding the masses (thanks to everyone who held onto Hamfest
leftovers for us – and thanks to all the businesses that Tom got to
contribute and sponsor our effort).
We have approval to use the field from
the Freeholders (Thanks to Tony, W2HWW for taking care of that). AND
the porta-potty will be there as usual.
Members have stepped up to voluinteer
the use of their personal rigs for the 24 hours of Field Day.
(Thanks, Dave J. Pete, Tony, Bob, and
Sid).
We have a volunteer information Officer
(Thanks Marc L.)
invitations have been sent to the
municipal OEM coordinators for whom we found Email address, County
OEM has been invited, several of the Freeholders, and even our State
Assembly Representatives. Including Red Cross, we sent out 24
invitations to elected officials or served agencies, this year.
Once again, we'll be hoisting a random
wire antenna from the county tower, a second one from the telephone
poles and a vertical antenna especially for the digital communication
station.
We will be using a better defined ICS
(Incident Command System) control chart to demonstrate that amateur
radio can be, more tightly, integrated into the OEM command structure
(when necessary).
The last ingredient - IS YOU.
SHOW UP – on Friday to help set up
the tents
SHOW UP – on Saturday morning to set
up the rigs
SHOW UP – Saturday noon (and bring
your empty coolers and a covered dish for a W2CRA picnic
SHOW UP – Saturday afternoon for 24
hours of non-stop operations
SHOW UP – Sunday to help inventory
and store all the goodies 'til next year.
And Please – show up to have FUN and
make this the best W2CRA Field Day in Years!
Glenn, AC2BH
