[W2CRA] CRA: Hardline from Old Tower

To those who expressed interest,

Looks like a slight snag in acquisition of hardline from old tower.  Had a chat
with the foreman and he doesn't feel it is practical to recover complete lengths
of cable from the tower because:
1.  Once the county is disconnected from the old tower it becomes the property
and responsibility of the contractor.  The foreman doesn't feel happy (safety)
with anyone other than his crew on the tower.  He seems to be concerned that
other climbers are likely to do things that either make it difficult or unsafe
for his crew.
2.  Time is money: He anticipates removing the old tower in 60' sections with
his crew ascending the tower, cutting all cables at 60' intervals then having
the 200' crane (you DON'T want to know the hourly rate) pick the sections and
lower them.  They will spend as little time as possible in the air and with the
crane.

However . . .

I'm trying to cut a deal to recover 60' (or so) sections after the tower in down
as they can be (carefully) spliced into longer lengths.

Let me know . . .
