[W1SMH] Note about EchoLink and routers

If you are a regular EchoLink user and have a router (Linksys or other), I
highly recommend you configure your PC with a static IP address.  This
ensures that after each reboot of your PC, the IP address is the same as the
one you have configured for "port forwarding" in your router.  There are
advantages and disadvantages of using static IP addressing but if you are
determined to make EchoLink work consistently, this is your best route.

 

Normally I advocate DHCP for dynamic IP address configuration but there are
some exceptions.
