[TVARC] ARRL Update (Dated May 22, 2024) on LoTW Outage

Like Tony, my career was 40 years in IT where I learned too much about 
security mishaps. Unfortunately, the ARRL incident sounds very much like 
a ransomware attack. Those attacks affect all computers on a network, 
doing serious damage. From some gentle observation, one can see that 
outward facing servers, such as those operating the web service are back 
in operation. They are some of the easiest to rebuild. It's the more 
dedicated servers inside the network that are taking the longest to come 
back.

I too wish them well and hope they have a better time of it than the 
British Library. They were attacked in October '23, have some of their 
services back now, but are still struggling. What I would like to see 
from the ARRL is more transparency. The BL was very transparent about
