Hi Pim,
If you listen to the Solar Space Weather videos I put on the web site, you
would know; Yes (the solar cycle has bottomed out), No (on the upswing), Yes
(Temporary bump). Dr. Tamitha Skov has reported that there is a few solar
flares that have been identified as being from the "next" cycle, and these
are essentially like a tease to us in that we are still at the bottom of the
tank, but the flare activity does raise the solar flux up to marginal levels
which is good for us.
If you have the time, give a listen to the "mini" courses she provides all
about "Space Weather and Solar Activity", here
https://www.k4vrc.com/hf-propagation.html, bottom of the page.
At least listen to the short videos I post twice weekly by her on our home
page.

Is it possible than the solar cycle has bottomed out, and we are on the
upswing? Or is it just a temporary bump? During the last four weeks I have
had QSOs with the following countries:
Spain (6)
Crete (3, one mobile)
Poland
England
France
Italy (9)
Brazil (2, one mobile)
Slovenia (5)
Canary Islands
Austria
Portugal
Luxembourg
Costa Rica
Bulgaria
Slovak Republic
Ukraine
Mexico
Serbia
All were 20M, SSB, Phone, 500W into my Eagle One vertical whip. Times
mostly between 16:00 and 17:30 local. Most signal reports received were 5/9.
Most sent were 5/5-5/7 (I think my meter reads a little conservative, either
that, or my antenna transmits better than it receives).
