Well said! Glad you had a good time. Did you upload your score to the SKCC website?

I had competing activities, but, I did 16 contacts and 11 states on 40 and 20 meters. I mostly used a friends refurbished 1960s era Vibroplex bug that came back on Friday, along with some contacts with my Begali Spark straight key. Vibroplex did a great job with the old bug.

Always a good experience, even when the bands are quiet!

In a tad over two hours made 46 QSOs in 28 states/provinces. But it’s way harder than hitting F1 over and over. My fist was pretty rusty, but it held out OK I guess. I tried using my old “bug,” but just couldn’t quite get the hang of it so I dug out my original novice key (from 1961) and it worked just fine!

Code speed is much slower than in regular contests since it just isn’t possible (at least for normal people) to send much faster than 15-20 WPM. So those of you who shy away from CW contests because the speeds are too high, this just may be the way to experience the joys of this mode.
