Hi All,
Again, I suggest that we all relax. This is government. Administrations will
change and many policies will change. Asking "why" to a fed gov. initiative
will just increase frustration and anxiety. Where I currently reside it is a
"crap shoot" if any fed comm will be in the clear or encrypted. Who knows
what technology will surface in a year, three years, five years, etc! Take a
breath and enjoy what you scan now. My best to all.

Why wouldn't they just do what they already are doing in trunking in the
fedral bands?  I don't know to the extent though, but the update on
radioreference.com talked about secure communications, but I don't know who
will be encrypted and who will be clear.
