Here's some general info about what the 7.x upgrade will offer for the
ALMR system:
The 7.X Upgrade will:
• extend the ALMR equipment lifecycle by four
years
• allow the Municipality of Anchorage to join the
System in its own zone at 700MHZ
• provide improved security
• turn the System into pure digital technology
• meet the infrastructure, equipment and
interoperability standards set by APCO
This is from one of the newsletter from the State. Some of these items
are so ambigous that don't make much sense, like "turn the system into
pure digital" which I thought being a 9600bps system it already was.
I REALLY would like to find more technical info about what the
versions 6.5 and up offer.
