First of all, are we talking a digital trunked system, or a digital
trunked system with encryption? You don't say which town you are in, so
some clarification may be required.

If the transmissions are digital, likely P25, then they can be demodulated
with a digital trunktracker scanner. You did not say which model of
trunking scanner you are using.

If the transmissions are digital and encrypted, then they cannot be
decoded legally, as the other email responses have already stated.

Hello Friemds
I recently moved to a town in New Jersey that uses a 506-507 Mhz Motorola
Type II smart net trunked system with encryption.
I have a trunking scanner but i can not listen to the police and fire
department because I think they are using encryption.
Does anyone out there know if there is a software or scanner that can
descramble the encryption??
Please help me.
Thank you
Jim in NJ,USA
