Yes they do. They will occur as a regular talkgroup id just with a
different id # than the main id.. You can have "landline interconnect"
(phone calls-where supported) and "private calls" where two users can
have a private two way conversation with each other.
For example "Joe's Plumbers" may have a main two way channel where
everyone with a radio can chat, lets say on 00-02-135. Lets say the
manager and asst. manager each have their own "private call" id in their
radio's which will allow them to have a "one on one" private two-way
conversation with each other. Each private call user will have its own
talkgroup id #. The manager may be assigned to 00-02-137 and the asst.
manager may be on 00-02-151. Lets go one step further and lets say this
particular system also has landline interconnect capabilities and the
manager has this privilege. This would occur on yet another talkgroup,
which may be 00-02-237.
I've seen some companies have as many private call ids as employees that
have radios, and they use private call exclusively. Yet others I've only
seen just one id period. Just depends on the users needs and desires as
to how they have their fleet set up with the radio shop.
