> Hello Group , Today is my first day on this reflector and I need some help. I have a large collection of receivers and transceivers but I have never operated a trunk tracking receiver. About two years ago I was issued a Motorola STX-2000 Flashport HT. It operates with the Caddo Parish "County" E-911 analog trunked radio system. The largest city connected to this system is Shreveport Louisiana. My questions are; If I purchase a trunk tracking receiver must I know all of the "talk groups" and "frequencies" to hear every department that is connected to this system or do I just need to load the "frequencies" and the trunk tracker will automatically load the "talk groups" for me ? I know that this must be a very common question but again I have never even seen a TT other than in a catalog or magazine. My other question is ; What is the best website to locate these "talk groups" for the Caddo Parish/Shreveport Louisiana trunked radio system if I need them and does any member ha
ve the "talk groups" to forward to me ? Thanks , Randy

Randy;

Once you enter the trunked frequencies, the receiver will hear
everything in search mode. If you want to scan specific talkgroups only,
you'll need to enter them in the scan lists.

Best place to find them is http://www.radioreference.com and follow the
links to your state. You'll need to register, but it's free.
