[TrunkCom] type I to IIi to II and then digital?

That is what I have heard. I didn't hear anything about what would happen
to the non public safety services, but they'll all have to get new gear if
the type I system goes to 9600 too. I'm just wondering though about the in
between time. For the 9600 system on 866 there are a few of the older
frequencies in that group of frequencies and when I programmed them in I was
still hearing coms from the type I system but nothing digital or even
encrypted which the encryption is something that I think that I only have
heard Detroit use once or twice. I don't konw who will be encrypted on the
new system, but I heard that detectives will be, but I don't know how much
and to what extent it will be used. The list of subfleets does specify
whether or not encryption has been used, but like I said it hasn't been
much. Is there any word on the schools and whether or not they will go all
trunked? Security is using Repeater System's LTR system and transportation
is still UHF and VHF conventional.
