You're correct. In order for the trunked system to accept a call on a
voice channel it requires the mobile ot transmit a connect tone on the
input. The radio also needs to receive the low-speed data on the
output. AFAIK, this is the same for EDACS.

DPL is NOT used with trunking. It totally defeats the purpose of
either one.
