Hi Mike. I am not too far form you, and am getting ready to leave the list
for a while actually until I get things situated in Arkansas at Lion's
World Services for the Blind where I will be for job training and an
evaluation for the next few months. I don't know how much access Iwill have
to E-mail, but I am presently charging both my BC245, and BC250D to take
down there. I wouldn't get my hopes up about Open Sky and Uniden because
there are so few systems that are using Open Sky. I did hear in 2000 when
Pennsylvania was to get Open Sky that you will be able to purchase a scanner
form M/Acomm and that whatever they want to encrypt they will encrypt, and
that of course will vary from agency to agency. Does anyone know of other
agencies that will be going Open Sky. Also, I am still looking for
information on anything that may be changing to digital in Arkansas, so if I
am not hear just E-mail me off line, and as soon as my E-mail situation is
nailed down I'll get back with you all.
Best regards:
Jeff
