[TrunkCom] Open Sky and Florida's pro-voice system and update form University of Michigan

Yes the DATA protocol is based on CDPD, however the Airlink (Air interface) for
Voice networks is based on  4-slot Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA).

Since most of the systems sold are both Voice and Data the network would have
two distinct sounds.
