APCO FOUNDATION RECEIVES FIRST CHARITABLE GIFT

APCO Foundation Strengthens Its Commitment To Raising Funds From
Multiple Entities, Private and Public

Daytona Beach, FL, June 21, 2002 APCO International (Association
Public-Safety Organization) today announced the
first charitable gift in support of the APCO foundation. The donation
was received from Frederick Griffin of Frederick Griffin
and Associates. The gift will be used to support the Foundations
mission to further the improvement of 9-1-1 public safety
communications throughout the nation.

This donation marks the first charitable gift received by the foundation
and strengthens its commitment to raising funds from
private, corporate and public entities on behalf of the public safety
community. The Foundations mission to distribute funds
to provide financial grants to individual PSAPs as a means of speeding
the deployment of wireless enhanced 9-1-1 services.

APCO International has been working hard to encourage other states and
wireless carriers to begin rapid E9-1-1
deployment. According to the Cellular Telecommunications and Internet
Association, 136 million wireless users exist in this
country. As more people begin to rely on their wireless phones as their
primary communication tool, it is becoming more
urgent to begin a nationwide rapid deployment of wireless E9-1-1.

The APCO foundation expresses its sincere gratitude to Frederick Griffin
and Associates and to the Virginia Chapter who
followed their lead with a charitable donation of their own.
