Cause Iam just a big time scanner fan. I like to know what is going on =
around me. That is all.

Radio I.D.'s help a dispatcher to know who is using what equipment and =
plays
an important roll in emergency situations. The dispatcher can quickly =
identify
the user. Also, should the radio be lost or stolen, it can be deprogrammed=

remotely. Encryption serves a different purpose, but, yes, relates to =
security.
Why would you need to know the radio I.D.s?
Well, then, what is encryption for?
