Radio I.D.'s help a dispatcher to know who is using what equipment and plays
an important roll in emergency situations.  The dispatcher can quickly identify
the user.  Also, should the radio be lost or stolen, it can be deprogrammed
remotely.  Encryption serves a different purpose, but, yes, relates to security.
 Why would you need to know the radio I.D.s?
Well, then, what is encryption for?
