Didn't you forget pi?

My rough estimate: Tup is ca. 6' high, ca. 2' in diameter, so about
4.5 tons.

Same. Latinate plurals all the way. A friend of mine was once gently
chided for referring to "musea" in a public talk. Hah! Good on
him.

Now how about less common singulars? Interstix, faex. (And that 'ae'
should be an ae ligature if this weren't ASCII, right?. :-)

ObSmithing:

Went to visit Tim Bolivar yesterday. His project of renovating his
late dad's woodshed to be his new blacksmith shop is coming along
nicely -- forge, anvil, work benches in place. The Palmer Power
Spring Hammer [1] that I swapped off to him for the 300# A&O is
sitting at the foot of the lane, expected to get huffed up the (very
steep) hill and moved into the new shop next week.

Oh, and I got a lovely new pocket knife for Christmas. Maker, Greg
Keith, pattern welded blade. I like it a lot!
