If it's like the saws that we had at work, they had a blade that rotated 
from 'up' from the work. The blade was coming at you as you held the 
saw. We could never figure out why they designed them to run the 
opposite direction as the gas saws, whose rotation tended to use the 
weight of the saw to better advantage. You can employe a wierd grip 
where the saw is kind of up in the air and away form you so the blade is 
now relatively closer and the sparks fly toward your feet rather than 
away... Seems counterintuitive until you try to control what you have 
found is a massive amount of torque. You will be pulling against the saw 
rather than pushing it, much easier to control.

Substantial face shields in addition to eye protection are a very good 
idea. The blades are very tough, but they are not fun to be that close 
to when they break.

For $10... what  a deal. Use 12 ga. extension cords and plug into a 20 
amp outlet. These saws will cut concrete with the correct blade. Hang on 
tight
