The prefatory claus of the 2A ("A well regulated militia") specifies a 
SINGLE SUFFICIENT REASON or many possible single sufficient reasons for 
GUARANTEEING and PROTECTING a preexistent right.  This is well 
established in scholarship as well as in law.
