Loose Hammer Head

Antifreeze, about 1 inch in the bottom of a bucket, Soak the hammer,
head down, leave over-night..

hammer handles...

I need to re-handle a couple hammers - actually, just reset them in new 
stickup, or whatever it is folks are using to hold the hammer handle in 
the head these days.

What do you use?  I hate to take a good handle (like the one in my Hofi)

and drive wedges in it, and it has gotten a tad bit loose over the
years.

There is some sort of grey looking caulk (I'm sure it isn't caulk) lots 
of guys are using to set the handles in nowadays.

How do you use it and what  are the steps to follow to do it?

Where do you get it?
