A used LeBlond in good condition is 100 times the lathe a new Grizzly
is. I was just in the Grizzly showroom and looked at that particular
lathe. It is ok for a Chinese boat anchor but not anywhere in the same
class as a LeBlond or a Claussing Colchester either of which can be
found used and in relatively good condition for the same amount of
money you will pay for that new Grizzly. Having worked on ROV's in the
Navy I can tell you that the typical Chinese LSO (Lathe Shaped Object)
Will not have the precision or rigidity to machine the materials used
to construct or repair ROV's. The Ocean is unforgiving of inadequate
preparation and engineering execution.
