If I needed a SAFE that much, I think I would consider renting a safe
deposit box at a bank.
I use a fireproof 4 drawer file cabinet in my office. Bought it years
ago - surplus - from USDA for $10. I think they cost almost $1000 then,
and that was 30 years ago. Fortunately, I have not had the occasion to
test it's fireproof capability, and hope I never do. It has concrete
walls about 2 inches thick.
I once sold a safe that my office inherited somehow, it was about 3'
square and the inside area for storage was about 12" square. It was
steel filled with reinforced concrete. Oddly, the combination was only
2 numbers, so much for safety! I think we sold it for about $50 at
public auction.
