[TheForge] OT--Gas prices, gas shortages, price gouging?

When I lived down there in the late 70s a person I met from the Oil/Gas 
company (Can't remember the companys name.. Columbia something maybe?) was 
walking the woods checking the wells. When I inquired about all the capped 
oil and gas wells, he said that when they tap a well they get to write off 
the current cost of drilling, exploration and tapping even if it had been 
there for years. He said we'll be ready to go when the rest of the world 
runs out and that the oil there is better for lubrication than fuel and 
that it will always be needed. Lot of pipes sticking out of the ground 
where I was
