[TheForge] OT--Gas prices, gas shortages, price gouging?

Drilling platforms and refineries are two differant things. The hurricane shut down refineries in Texas not drilling. Even if it was just drilling, we'd be getting shipments of oil from somewhere else. Yeah high oils prices will drive gas prices, but the oil execs closing refineries and keeping them closed has done more to run our gas prices up. I'm for the pickens plan(look it up online right now). I'm also for renewable alternative fuels too. Hybrids aren't enough we need hybrids that run on alcohol, hydrogen, natural gas, propane, biodiesel, vegatable oils, and anything else we can think of. Besides, there is no actual law against drilling offshore. It's heavily frowned upon and used as another excuse to gouge prices.
