This morning when I left for work the Chevron station I pass by was at
$3.49... I came home early so I could fill the truck and boat for a
fishing trip tomorrow... it was $3.89 and the Shell station up the road
was $4.19. The lines were 10 deep at the pumps... luckily I know a
couple of stations out in the 'sticks' and filled up at $3.99 but at
least I didnt have to wait an hour for petrol...
I propose we send an email to each and every Senator and Congress
person.. reminding them there are no hurricanes in ANWR... Had we
started drilling there and in the outer continental shelf 10-15 years
ago as was proposed then.. we wouldn't be in this predicament now..

Other stations have raised their prices 40 to 50 cents a gallon and I saw prices of $3.99 to $4.09 down the highway. Guess they think they need to charge "possible replacement cost" for the gasoline in their tanks rather than price it at a normal profit above what they paid for it. I know that the gasoline presently in the tank farms and pipelines does not justify the jump in prices so I guess someone figures to make a wee bit more profit based on rumors and scare tactics. And yes, the local tv news station in Huntsville was reporting the $5.00 per gallon story like it was carved in stone.
